On November 15, 1988, James A. Armour was named president of what
would become
AM General, while it was still the vehicle
manufacturing unit of LTV Aerospace and Defense Company. Prior to
this appointment, Armour served as vice president and HUMVEE program
manager. In this position, he was responsible for monitoring the relationship
between
AM General and its principal customer, the
US Army Tank-Automotive Command. Before that, he was vice president
of materials and quality assurance. Armour joined LTV in 1983 as AM
General corporate director of quality assurance. From 1972
to 1983, Armour held a variety of management positions at American
Motors Corporation. While serving as operations manager, he helped
launch the Renault Alliance, which received the coveted Motor Trend
Car of the Year Award. Before joining American Motors, Armour spent
eight years with Ford Motor Company in various management functions.
Armour's career also includes public service as a project leader for
the Peace Corps in South America, where he was responsible for improving
the general well-being of 12,000 natives of the County of Rivera,
Huila, in Colombia.
A. Bruce
Neil, President and CEO, The Doe Run Company
A. Bruce Neil was appointed President in January 2006 and CEO in April 2006, and is responsible for the overall management of the company. Prior to his current position, he was President of Doe Run Peru S.R.L. Neil has had extensive experience in the non-ferrous metallurgical smelting and custom refining industry. He previously worked for ASARCO, both at the Omaha custom lead refining facility and at the Glover, MO plant. Prior to that he worked for magnesium producer Timminco in Haley, Ontario, as well as for Noranda both in Rouyn, Quebec and Brunswick Smelting in New Brunswick. Neil is a Metallurgical Engineering graduate from Queen’s University of Kingston Ontario, Canada.

Juan Carlos Huyhua, President, Doe Run Peru S.R.L.
Dr. Juan Carlos Huyhua was appointed President of Doe Run Peru in December 2005. As president and general manager of Doe Run Peru, Juan Carlos Huyhua, Ph.D., is responsible for all aspects of The Doe Run Company’s South American subsidiary operations, which include a copper mine in Cobriza and a large metallurgical facility in La Oroya, Peru. With more than 4,000 employees at its South American operations, Doe Run Peru produces 11 metals and nine byproducts.
Prior to being named president and general manager, Huyhua served the company as vice president and operations manager from 1997 (when Doe Run purchased the South American operations) through December of 2005. Huyhua previously held various positions with Centromin Peru (former owner of the operation) as early as 1978.
Huyhua received a master’s degree and a doctorate in extractive metallurgy from the New Mexico Institute of Mining and Technology and a chemical engineering degree from the National University of San Agustin, Arequipa, Peru. With more than 25 years of experience in the metals industry, Huyhua recently joined the Executive Team of The Doe Run Company, serving in a leadership role at a global level.
Additionally, Huyhua has received various awards and national and international recognition, both in Peru and the United States, has published numerous articles and has made presentations at the national and international level.
Michael
H. Legge, President and CEO, US Magnesium, LLC
Michael H. Legge became president and chief executive officer of Magnesium Corporation of America, in 1993 and took the same positions with US Magnesium when it was formed in 2002. Legge has held a number of positions since first being hired in 1979, including process control superintendent and plant manager. Before moving to the magnesium industry, Legge worked for six years in the copper industry with Phelps Dodge Incorporated. Legge earned a bachelor of science degree in metallurgical engineering from the University of Arizona in 1969 and a masters of business administration degree from the University of Arizona in 1978.
Gary
Slater, President, Unarco Material Handling Inc.
Gary Slater became president of Unarco Material Handling, Inc. in March 2005 after serving as Vice President, Sales since 1999. He previously worked for Anderson Racking and Cal-Rak, both in California. Slater has been in the material handling business for a career that spans over twenty five years. As a veteran in the rack industry, he brings industrial marketing and management experience to Unarco and has worked with customers personally on some of the largest distribution centers in the country. He is currently serving as the president of the RMI (Rack Manufacturer's Institute) and has served on the board for MHEDA and was active in the California chapter of the Material Handling Supply Association. Slater graduated with a B.S. in Business from the University of San Francisco.
