Since that time, AM General and its predecessors have been leaders in developing civilian and military transportation vehicles.

Business and Products: AM General is famous for producing the Humvee and HUMMER® motor vehicles. The company specializes in high-quality military and special-purpose vehicles and diesel engines to power its top-of-the-line trucks. To support the introduction of new product systems, AM General provides integrated logistics support services to military and industry clients, helping deploy and execute new field systems around the world. AM General also supplies service, parts, and training for military and civilian vehicles.

Operations and Facilities: Headquartered in South Bend, Indiana, AM General operates in six locations across the Midwest. These include research and development facilities in Livonia, Michigan and vehicle assembly plants in Mishawaka, Indiana.
