Business and Products:  Based in St. Louis, Missouri, The Doe Run Company is a privately held natural resources company and the largest integrated lead producer in the Western Hemisphere dedicated to environmentally responsible mineral and metal production. The Doe Run Company operates the world’s largest single site lead recycling facility located in Missouri. The company and its subsidiaries deliver products and services needed to provide power, protection and convenience through premium products and associated metals. The company also retrieves and recycles more than 150,000 tons of lead annually from manufactured products such as batteries and telephone cables.

For the first time in its history, The Doe Run Company reached the billion dollar mark in sales at the end of 2005 and 1.6 billion dollars in 2006. Under the direction of its president and CEO, A. Bruce Neil, Doe Run is focusing on worldwide customers, global demand and a changing industry climate. The company is embracing diverse customer needs through workforce development; technology and product delivery; vertical and horizontal product expansion; and resource sourcing.

Operations and Facilities: From its headquarters in St. Louis, The Doe Run Company and its subsidiaries employ more than 1,500 people, with operations in Missouri, Washington and Arizona.  The company's mining and milling division is based in southeastern Missouri, approximately 120 miles southwest of St. Louis, around the ore-rich Viburnum Trend. Its recycling division, which produces thousands of tons of reusable lead from used batteries and other products, is located in Boss, Missouri, in the southeastern part of the state. The company's fabricated products subsidiary -- which produces radiation shields for use in hospitals and cancer-treatment facilities and lead-lined sheetrock and plywood, among other things -- operates from facilities in Vancouver, Washington, and Casa Grande, Arizona.

Environment and Community: Dedicated to environmental leadership and safety, The Doe Run Company and its predecessors have earned the highest safety honor in the United States mining industry, the U.S. Mine Safety Administration's Sentinels of Safety Award, 23 times since 1971. Since the company has spent approximately $16 million annually on environmental improvements, in keeping with the company's mission to consistently reduce environmental emissions and impact on the natural environment.
